Admission: Applying from a Canadian Secondary School

Our Faculty attracts over 10,000 applications from secondary school students for approximately 2,000 first-year spots. That means a lot of people are making the same smart choice, and it also means admission is competitive.

Applicants are admitted on the basis of academic performance; expression; evidence of personal initiative, commitment, and accomplishment; and academic preparation, including breadth and rigor of secondary-school studies. Applications are evaluated using both academic and non-academic criteria. Admission decisions are based on an evaluation of academic performance and an assessment of the Arts Personal Profile.

Admission averages are calculated on four to five Grade 12 (including AP or IB) courses, depending on which province you’re applying from.
