Join the tri-mentoring program and introduce yourself to the professional world! Initiate and maintain professional relationships with industry and faculty mentors, as well as with other students. Find out some of the career options for your major. Develop transferable skills like networking, communication, time management and leadership, and prepare yourself for the transition from school to the working world.
The Arts Tri-Mentoring Program connects Arts students with industry and faculty mentors, and with one another.
It involves a UBC alumni who is matched with a junior (1st /2nd year) and a senior (3rd/4th year) student. Matches are based on academic and career goals. For the 2011-2012 academic year, students and alumni from Anthropology, Asian Studies, English, Geography, Political Science and Sociology will participate. Economics, Psychology, Film Production also offer Tri-Mentoring. Questions? Contact Bonita Perko.
During your 6 months dedication to the program, the time commitment is approximately 20-30 hours depending on whether you want to be awarded the Certificate of Participation or the Certificate of Excellence. Students are expected to meet with their alumni mentor once a month.
