German Studies (minor)

*no language component

The Department of Central, Eastern and Northern European Studies now offers a Minor in German Studies made up of upper-level literature and culture courses taught in English.

This new minor provides students with the opportunity to study the cultures and literatures of the German-speaking countries without the language component that is part of the German language program. However, students with sufficient knowledge of German may use literature and culture courses taught in German toward the completion of the German Studies Minor.

There are no lower-level prerequisites for the German Studies minor and there is no language component. Students must take 18 upper-level credits.

The German Studies Minor (GMST) cannot be combined with the regular German Major or Minor (GERM).
