Volunteer Opportunities

Connect with your campus, community, and environment by taking on a volunteer opportunity or internship.

Apply what you learn in class to promote and build sustainability in your neighborhood and the strengthening of civil society.

Volunteer and internship projects can be good networking opportunities and are great ways to hone your creative, communications, and problem solving skills.

       On Campus

There are many volunteer opportunities on and off campus, but please note the following list is not an exhaustive one. There are more for yourself to explore.

  • Equity Ambassadors: collaborate with other students to increase awareness about human rights and inclusivity issues.
  • International House: develop communication skills and learn about global and intercultural issues.  You can make new friends from around the world while you're at it.
  • QPR: Question, Persuade, Refer - suicide prevention program training.

       Off Campus

  • UBC Learning Exchange: help inner city schools and non-profit organizations while learning about inner city issues. As much as possible, your volunteer work is integrated into academic course work—an approach called Community Service-Learning.
  • Go Volunteer: get engaged -- search volunteer opportunities in BC and Alberta.
